Snow and ice control

When it snows, crews follow Council's approved priority routes:

1. Priority 1: emergency routes, major arterials and school zones
2. Priority 2: collector roads, transit routes and downtown
3. Priority 3: residential lanes and cul-de-sacs

Residential plowing begins after Priority 1 and 2 routes are clear and 8 cm or more has accumulated. Sidewalks adjacent to your property are the owner's responsibility — clear them within 24 hours of snowfall.

Street sweeping

Sweeping runs in spring and fall. Watch for temporary "no parking" signs in your area; vehicles left on the street during a sweep may be ticketed and moved.
