About High River

Home to about 14,000 people on the Highwood River, 30 minutes south of Calgary. A downtown that has starred in film and television, river pathways that connect every neighbourhood, and a front-row view of the Rockies.

Community art

Public murals, rotating exhibits and the work of local artists make the downtown a gallery of its own. The Community Vitality Fund supports cultural projects each year.

A hub for film and television

High River's downtown has played countless roles on screen. The Town supports productions while protecting residents' access — filming notices are posted to News in advance.
