Council highlights

After each regular meeting, a plain-language summary of decisions is published to News. The CivicWeb portal carries the official record: agendas, minutes and video (when available) at highriver.civicweb.net.

Strategic vision and priorities

Council's strategic plan centres community vitality, responsible growth, service excellence and connection — the Community Vitality Fund is one of its signature programs, investing in resident-led projects.

Public hearings

Statutory public hearings for land use and bylaw changes are advertised on this page and in the local paper. Written submissions may be sent to the Municipal Clerk before the hearing.

Senior leadership

The Chief Administrative Officer and senior leadership team implement Council's direction across the organization. The organizational chart and department contacts are available on request from the Municipal Clerk's Office.

Policies

Council policies guide administration across governance, finance and community matters. The current policy register is maintained by Legislative & Advisory Services.

Boards and committees

Residents are appointed to a range of boards and committees each fall. Watch News for vacancy announcements, or contact the Municipal Clerk's Office to express interest.

Access to information (ATIPP)

As a municipality, the Town is subject to Alberta's Access to Information Act and Protection of Privacy Act. Formal access requests are made in writing to the Privacy Officer.
